High Energy Costs and Leaks
Did you know that every time you turn up your air conditioner or thermostat you're often just drying out the moist air in your home emanating from your crawlspace?
Dirt crawlspaces are pretty much like having a dirt floor in your home.
What happens in the winter is that the air in the crawlspace maintains a fairly constant temperature, consistent with the ground temperature. Even if you've insulated your crawlspace, you are paying to heat it every time warm air runs through the heating ducts down there. The bone-chilling air seeps up into your living space causing you to feel damp and cold. In some houses the problem is so bad that you feel like your furnace might as well be in your backyard.
The same thing happens in the summer with your air conditioning. If your crawlspace is vented most typically are then it lets the warm, humid summer air in and you're paying through your ductwork to reduce that humidity with the cool air that's meant for you and your family.
PermaDry Waterproofing can seal your basement or crawlspace creating an environment that is inhospitable to molds, mildew, odors, dry rot, rodents, insects, and radon.
