Commonly Asked Questions
How will I know what services are best for me?
There are many choices and just as many companies to choose from. Perma Dry Waterproofing offers a variety of drainage and repair services depending on the issue, not locked into one product to sell. We try to find the cause and offer long lasting reliable solutions to complicated problems. We take our time with property owners to explain their choices and review the details in person to answer questions and clarify the repair process. Our estimates are free, we simply ask that you take the time with a representative to review your options to better help you make the right choice.
Do I need a Sump Pump?
Sump pumps are only a part of the solution to stop a water problem. While common, sump pumps installed alone rarely solve all water issues. Additional drainage repairs to compliment the sump pump, or even a gravity drain may be available options. Your representative will be able to help you diagnose and explain all your sump pump and drainage needs.
How long will a sump pump last?
Good sump pumps can last for years and years, but sump pump function is relative to the volume of water mineral or debris content and how often you maintain your sump pump system. If you must have a sump pump an Emergency Back Up Battery Sump Pump system is essential so you are protected when you need pumping power the most. Our Maintenance and Service department can clean and replace your vital system and pump components.
Do you warranty your work?
Absolutely! We are so confident in our ability to solve your water issue; all our solutions come with long term written guarantees against defects in the system from materials or workmanship. If we fix it, it stays dry or we will repair it at no additional cost! But, quality workmanship is the first line of defense so your warranty never needs to be utilized.
Are exterior repairs better than interior?
Water problems are not created equally and so neither is the repair. Taking time to find the source, the cause, and consider the implications of interior repairs versus exterior is what we do best. Perma Dry Waterproofing is not tied into one solution for all homes but rather works with the home owner to develop a plan and set of recommendations to achieve the long term goal of a dry and healthy home.
Do I need a building permit?
Typically drainage repairs on your property do not require a permit, but work in the public “right of way” or on public property might. Your sales representative can help you answer these questions, and as needed, we apply for the permits on your behalf. Because city codes can be different from one city to the next, it is in your best interest to call your local building department and ask what they may require.
